Sunday February 26 - winter is done

After a perfect week on skis and snowboards, with all the kids and their partners, we are now back in Budapest.
Check out the pictures in Facebook...
Realized this morning that the intake of calories had been 21 000 calories more than the energi consumption. Makes 3 kilos plus. Food must have been very good and plenty.
Will now start a weight loosing program to get back in normal shape. It has to be done by diet, as I can't run at the moment. Have a bad muscle infection in my right leg. At least that is my diagnose. Let's see what my doctor will tell me tomorrow.
No blogging next week, as I will be off to Italy and Slovenia for the rest of the week.

Spring has arrived here. Went to the supermarket, and it was full of planting soil and lawn mowers.

This is how tired you get after a week in high altitude and fresh air;

Friday February 17, 2012 - snow

We had some snowfall here in Budapest on last Tuesday. 5 cm. Maybe 6. This caused panic, and the Britannica school to call all parents to get their kids back home at 12.00. School closed.
Today the same story. 6 cm snow - school sent a message that all kids had to be collected at LATEST 14.00.
Ok, it is an english school, with english staff. But anyway... Snow chaos looks a little different in my eyes. Our dear headmaster´s last assignment was somwhere in Africa. Could this be the reason for the slight overreaction???

Maybe Evi, our babysitter (do you still say babysitter when entertaining a seven year old??) has some brittish genes as well, as she let us know that she can't make it through the unploughed roads tonight. Maybe there is really some snow out there??? :-)

The consequence of that is that we will miss a night out with friends. But on the other hand we will have a nice Friday evening at home. Doesn't happen every week... We just bought 1,8 kg fillet of beef, that me and m will grill. Big M will stick to ice cream :-))

Beginning of the week was very cold. Especially inside, as our gas heater that heat the appartment and gives us  warm water suddenly started to leak water, and then refused to do any heating anymore. This was Monday evening. Tuesday evening at 9 the plumber finally showed up. After some disassembly, he said that the circulation pump has to be renewed, and he promised to show up next morning. 7 in the evening he was here. I guess those guys are same all over, wherever you live. Anyway, now it's warm and cozy here again. I even had a shower yesterday. Mmmmmmm :-)

Today we are packing for Ischgl. I'm responsible for the ski equipment and gear. It was done in 10 minutes. M who will do the rest has been running around back and forth like a lost chicken for the last couple of hours, and she isn't half through yet. I mean; how hard can it be??? :-)))

As we are a big family, spread out over a big part of Europe, we will arrive to Ischgl from different directions.

Kajsa, Willem and Selma, are driving from Holland. They will make a stop in Tannheim at Tuttan for the night.
Latest report says they just passed Stuttgart.
Hilda and Maja took the easy way; flew from Copenhagen to Munich, and will get a ride with Linda tomorrow to the destination.

Flöring is working in Åre for some days. Filming a Red Bull event, will fly in on Sunday

Victor and Anna will take the ferry from Trelleborg to Travemünde tonight, and will arrive by car tomorrow evening.

Me, M&m will leave Budapest by car tomorrow morning.

Ischgl - HERE WE COME :-)))

A future butcher???;

Marleen has turned seven. Last weekend we had the traditional "grown up party" with Paella and loads of wine. Was a fun evening as always :-)
Yesterday m had invited som frioends from school for the kids party. Also seemed to be fun, and very loud.
